Deshittification - Eight Sleep Pod Pro 3

So you found yourself the proud owner of a leaky Pod Pro 3. Odds are you already tried patching it. Didn't work, did it? I tried that for about a year. Every patch succeeded, then a month later a new tear formed. Terrible product. But having made the mistake of purchasing one, and being grandfathered in to before the smart features were a stupid subscription (Who the hell thought subscribing to a bed was ok?), I wanted to get my money's worth. Plus, if I'm honest, I do like what the product offers. I just wish they actually stood by it and made the product either repairable or longer lasting.

The good news, however, is that with enough ingenuity and pettiness about corporate greed, anything is repairable. So join me while we kill their bottom line by improving their product and eventually learning how to make our own for pennies on the dollar.

I have this planned in 3 phases:

• Fixing Your Existing Mattress Cover For Good (Or... at least for the next 5 years, and then you can do it again easily).
• Build Your OWN cover from scratch. In case you have an old Pod Hub you want to use but don't have the cover or would rather use something better.
• Build you OWN hub. I know this sounds like a lot but you will see that with just a couple dozen dollars to buy a Raspberry Pi Pico, a power supply, and a few peltier devices YOU TOO can build the $1,000 brains of the operation.

At the end of this all, we should have the details we need to build a longer lasting, better product than they one they sell for $3000 plus hundreds of dollars a year for... I'm aiming for around $200. As a note, odds are high I will be leveraging some LLM to build some of the code for the hub. You might have feelings about that. I get it. I might not agree, but I get it. So... I sincerely welcome anybody forking my code and making a 100% human built version. Code isn't my strong suit. I'm not bad, but I don't want to spend a year on deshittifying this when I can deshittify 5 things in that time.
